The Deesis scene, or illustration of forgiveness for sinners, is displayed on the apse, while the Gospel is displayed beneath bird images on the front, saints are portrayed within medallions in the vault, the Last Supper, Betrayal, and Baptism are displayed in the south wing of the vault and Mary is saved beneath these images, Jesus is lowered from the cross, women are seen at the empty tomb, and Jesus is seen ascending to hell in the north wing, The Weighing of Spirits tableau on the right serves as the beginning of the Last Judgment representation, which is only found in a few churches in Cappadocia.
An angel standing in the middle of the frame is holding a spirit-weighing scale in one hand and a scepter in the other. This angel is immediately adjacent to two other angels. Both angels are holding white clothes that signify ghosts. Angels' halos, which are infrequently seen in Cappadocia, are a light blue and orange color. The figure of the naked, wingless devil standing in opposition to the angels pulls the rope attached to the hook with one hand while hooking the scale with the other. In front of the devil are images of heads that stand in for spirits on each pan of the scale that the angel is holding.
