How far is Cappadocia from Istanbul?

Istanbul To Cappadocia by Plane

Flying to Cappadocia from Istanbul is by far the easiest and fastest way. You can choose Nevsehir or Kayseri airports to land, and the flight takes about an hour. There are fewer flights in Nevsehir than in Kayseri, so you have the option to pick and choose. Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines both have multiple flights during the day. From Istanbul, you may travel from Sabiha Gokcen or Istanbul Airports depending on availability. Prices vary, so the sooner you get your ticket the cheaper it will likely be. 

Once you get to the airport, there are several shuttle companies that can take you to town, for example, Goreme, where most hotels are located. Istanbul To Cappadocia by Train

The only way to travel by train is to go to Ankara or Konya first – then you may take a bus or car to the town of Goreme in Cappadocia. Though the view may be worth it, it will take a while and might be considered quite a hassle by most.

Are you someone who can easily sleep on long-distance planes or buses? Then a night bus from Istanbul to Cappadocia can be your method of transportation, especially if you are on a tight budget.

If you like long road trips, you can rent a car and go to Cappadocia but keep in mind, that journey is around 8 hours without stopping. Of course, you may stop on the way somewhere, such as cities Ankara or Eskisehir, but keep in mind getting out of Istanbul may take a while due to its infamous traffic.
